Altira Group LLC, Denver, an early stage venture capital firm focused on energy technology, has closed Altira Technology Fund IV LP. The $64-million fund is Altira's largest and will invest in early-stage technology opportunities in oil and gas. Current and former Altira-backed companies include Canyon Offshore, NuTech Energy Alliance, RC Squared, RigNet, TransZap, Varidigm, Pixxures, WhiteStar and Austin GeoModeling. Altira's four funds have more than $100 million in aggregate capital commitments.
