The British Columbia Woodfibre LNG project hit a major construction milestone with the arrival of seven large-scale pipe rack modules, the company reported on May 26.

The fully assembled steel structures will transport LNG from the facility’s liquefaction unit to floating storage tanks and a loading terminal.

“This is a huge milestone for the Woodfibre LNG project as it's the start of our facility going vertical—where people will really start to see the facility take shape," said Luke Schauerte, CEO of Woodfibre LNG.

A total of 19 modules will be delivered through 2025 and into 2026.

The Woodfibre LNG project is located on Canada’s west coast, near the U.S. border. At capacity, it will be able to export about 2.1 million metric tons a year (mtpa) of LNG. The project is scheduled for completion in 2027.

Enbridge owns 30% of the $5.1 billion project. The remaining 70% is owned by Pacific Energy, which is part of the Singapore-based RGE group of companies.
