Montana-based Bridger Photonics is undergoing leadership changes in support of the growth the company has experienced in 2024, the aerial methane detection solutions provider said Jan. 28.
Effective Feb. 18, the company’s founder and current CEO Pete Roos will assume the role of chief innovation officer. Ben Little will succeed Roos as Bridger’s new CEO.
Little holds experience in data, software and platform development, the release stated. He is currently CEO of software company Bloomfire and previously scaled international companies in technology, software as a service (SaaS), agriculture and telecommunications.
“Passing the baton to Ben best positions Bridger for our next stages of growth. He is the perfect cultural and talent fit to guide our company and advance our mission of making emissions reduction simple for the oil and gas community,” said Roos, who founded Bridger in 2006.
Bridger’s success came from large market adoption of its methane detection solutions in 2024, the company said in the announcement’s press release. Bridger doubled its customer base last year, supporting nine out of 10 top U.S. natural gas producers, exceeding its revenue targets and averaging 18% year-on-year methane emissions reduction from its clients.
On Jan. 16, the company received approval from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for its aerial gas mapping LiDAR technology .
The device uses laser sensors to detect, locate, image and quantify emissions from oil and gas operations, Bridger said.
Last year, Bridger’s methane detection technology scanned more than 200,000 facilities, over 200,000 miles of pipeline and approximately 3,000 sq. m of distribution infrastructure.
