BP Plc is planning to sell its mobility and convenience business in Austria, according to BP’s March 27 press release.
The sale includes over 260 of BP’s retail sites across Austria. Approximately 120 are company owned.
BP will also divest its associated Austrian fleet business, electric vehicle charging assets and its shares in the Linz fuel terminal non-operated joint venture, BP said.
The company is aiming for the sale to be complete by year-end 2025.
The sale is part of the company’s strategy to reshape and focus its downstream businesses, following last year’s announcement that it is marketing its mobility and convenience business in the Netherlands.
BP previously divested its retail businesses in Turkey in 2024 and Switzerland in 2022.
“We have a high-quality retail business in Austria with excellent locations, great people and a loyal customer base. Over recent years we have grown the business to become number two major branded retailer in the market. As BP now looks to focus downstream and reshape our portfolio, we believe that a new owner will be best placed to unlock the business’s full potential,” said Emma Delaney, executive vice president of customers and products at BP.
