Atlas Energy Solutions has elected current CEO John Turner to the proppant producer’s board of directors effective immediately, the company announced in an Aug. 26 press release.
Turner’s promotion increases the company’s board of directors to nine members.
Prior to becoming CEO in March 2024, Turner was also Atlas’ president since November 2022 and CFO since the company’s founding in 2017, according to the promotion’s announcement.
Turner holds over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry with a focus on corporate finance, business development and strategic planning.
He was previously CFO and vice president of Brigham Exploration Co., as well as CFO for Mediterranean Resources, the release said.
“John will bring an invaluable perspective to the board through his extensive experience as an executive in the oil and gas industry,” said Executive Chairman Ben M. “Bud” Brigham. “He has been a remarkable leader for Atlas since our founding, and his knowledge and decades of operational and financial leadership in the industry will benefit the board and add valuable insight as we continue to focus on operational excellence and generating returns for our stockholders.”
