Ameresco Inc. and Sunel Group announced on April 24 the intention to collaborate on projects that exceed 1.5 gigawatt peak (GWp) in Europe with the formation of Ameresco Sunel Energy SA.
The projects currently in the bidding phase are expected to exceed $500 million USD in contract value and increase renewable energy access across Europe’s electricity grid.
Ameresco Sunel Energy has been selected as the contractor for Delfini, a 100 megawatt peak solar photovoltaic project in Greece, by European solar developer Cero Generation. Delfini is currently in the construction phase.
“[Ameresco and Sunel Group] share the same commitment to sustainability and the transition to a low-carbon economy, and we look forward to working together to deliver world-class renewable energy projects that will benefit the local community and the environment,” said Konstantinos Zygouras, Sunel Group CEO.
Ameresco Inc. is a cleantech integrator and renewable energy asset developer, owner and operator based out of Framingham, Massachusetts. Sunel Group was founded in 2006 by Greek stakeholders, and is now creating projects in a number of locations, including Cyprus, Spain and the U.K.
