ADNOC awarded John Wood Group Plc a $2.8 billion contract to provide engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCm) for the company’s long-term gas processing facilities at the United Arab Emirates’ Habshan facility.

As part of Wood’s contract in ADNOC’s Rich Gas Development project, the company will participate in upgrades and debottlenecks for the existing Habshan and Habshan 5 gas including processing mega-complexes and pipelines, brownfield modifications and the installation of new facilities.

Wood had a FEED contract with the Habshan facility previously.

“Wood gained extensive knowledge of Habshan delivering the front-end engineering design and we will deliver the EPCm phase while the facilities remain fully operational in order to sustain critical gas supply,” Wood CEO Ken Gilmartin said in the contract’s June 10 announcement.

The project is expected to be complete by the end of 2027.
