Offshore servicer Transocean announced a $232 million ultra-deepwater contract for the Deepwater Atlas drillship with BP in the Gulf of Mexico, Transocean announced Sept. 10.
The contract has a 365-day duration and is expected to commence in second-quarter 2028. Transocean said no additional services will be provided under the contract.
Deepwater Atlas is the world’s first eighth generation ultra-deepwater drillship.
This announcement follows the company’s contract for six wells offshore India by Reliance Industries, valued at approximately $123 million.
