Saudi Aramco has made 14 oil and gas discoveries in the eastern region and the Rub’ al Khali region, also known as the 'Empty Quarter,' the Saudi energy minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz announced on April 8.
The discoveries include six fields and two reservoirs of oil, as well as two fields and four reservoirs of natural gas.
The discoveries totaled about 8,200 bbl/d of oil, 80 MMcf/d of natural gas, and 6,000 bbl/d of condensates. Saudi Arabia produced almost 9 MMbbl/d of oil in the first quarter of 2025, according to the OPEC Monthly Oil Market Report.
