Royal Dutch Shell Plc has agreed to the sale of its Permian Basin position on Sept. 20 as the supermajor doubles down on its emissions goals. Shell’s exit from the Permian Basin has long been rumored, initially spurred by a landmark Dutch court ruling earlier this year ordering the company to speed up its plans to cut greenhouse-gas emissions. Sparrows Group has expanded with its move to six new facilities in Abu Dhabi, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Australia and the U.S. The growth has been driven by increased demand for its services in these countries, such as maintenance of critical machinery in the energy and industrial sectors, and is set to create 200 jobs.
Lagoon Water Midstream has acquired Double Drop Resources in the Midland Basin. With ongoing support from Macquarie Infrastructure Partners, this acquisition significantly expands Lagoon’s operations and establishes it as a multi-basin water management company with a presence in the heart of the Permian. Lagoon absorbed all Double Drop employees, will office in downtown Midland and will add additional disposal and water recycling facilities in the basin. Read more here.
