DNV has opened a hydrogen testing and research laboratory to quantify the performance of materials used in hydrogen transportation and storage. Repurposing existing infrastructure has a key role to play in the adoption of hydrogen, so the company’s services will provide the industry with knowledge and insights for the design and construction of new assets and the management of existing assets used for hydrogen transportation and storage. The opening of the hydrogen laboratory follows the successful materials technology laboratory that DNV has used for materials testing and research.
Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC) and Abu Dhabi National Energy Co. PJSC (TAQA) have launched a new global renewable energy and green hydrogen venture. The two energy companies will have a total generating capacity of at least 30 GW of renewable energy by 2030, leveraging ADNOC’s energy and hydrogen capabilities and TAQA’s renewables expertise.
