COMPANIES

GATE Energy opened an office location in Mexico City that will allow it to provide clients with a commissioning experience for North American projects and allow its subsidiary, Viking Engineering, to offer integrated engineering services to Mexico and the Latin American region. The Mexican energy sector, including Pemex, and other private oil companies, will bring opportunities for Viking Engineering and position GATE as the “partner of choice” for clients in Mexico.

DNV has opened a hydrogen testing and research laboratory to quantify the performance of materials used in hydrogen transportation and storage. Repurposing existing infrastructure has a key role to play in the adoption of hydrogen, so the company’s services will provide the industry with knowledge and insights for the design and construction of new assets and the management of existing assets used for hydrogen transportation and storage. The opening of the hydrogen laboratory follows the successful materials technology laboratory that DNV has used for materials testing and research.

Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC) and Abu Dhabi National Energy Co. PJSC (TAQA) have launched a new global renewable energy and green hydrogen venture. The two energy companies will have a total generating capacity of at least 30 GW of renewable energy by 2030, leveraging ADNOC’s energy and hydrogen capabilities and TAQA’s renewables expertise. The partnership will also benefit from the availability of low-cost renewable energy in the United Arab Emirates and the country’s proximity to significant future demand centers for hydrogen and its carrier fuels.
