PEOPLE

Viridis Chemical LLC has appointed Keith Terhune senior vice president of operations.

GTI created several new roles and has appointed the following people to fill them: Kristine Wiley, vice president of Hydrogen Technology Center; Jeremy Otahal, vice president of people and client services; Amy Russell, director of diversity, equity and inclusion; and Ray Deatherage, director of education and training.

Deacon Industrial Supply Company Inc. has appointed Nicole Pompa controller/HR manager.

Wayne Richards has resigned from NOW Inc.’s board of directors. He is succeeded by Sonya Reed, formerly senior vice president of human resources and corporate communications at Phillips 66.

COMPANIES

Chesapeake Energy Corp. has agreed to acquire Vine Energy Inc., an energy company focused on the development of natural gas properties in the Haynesville and Mid-Bossier shale plays in northwest Louisiana. The transaction, which is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2021, is set to make Chesapeake the largest producer in the Haynesville Shale. Read more here.

Saudi Aramco is in advanced talks to acquire a roughly 20% stake in Reliance Industries Ltd.’s oil refining and chemicals business. An agreement could be reached as soon as the coming weeks. Read more here.

BHP Group is in talks to sell its global oil and gas business to Woodside Petroleum Ltd. The sale would create a new international super independent with a long-term focus on LNG but exposure in the medium term to high-margin, deepwater oil. Read more here

EnCap Investments will acquire EP Energy less than a year after the oil and gas producer emerged from a bankruptcy process that handed control to its creditors. EnCap plans to split EP into its separate geographies and merge them with existing portfolio companies. Read more here.

Tallgrass Energy LP closed on the purchase of a 75% membership interest in Escalante H2 Power. It acquired its membership interest from Brooks Energy Co., while Newpoint Gas LLC will retain a 25% membership interest and continue to partner with Tallgrass in EH2’s development of the hydrogen conversion project.
