Golar LNG said its floating LNG (FLNG) vessel Gimi offloaded its first full cargo to LNG carrier British Sponsor, according to an April 17 press release.
The LNG cargo was transferred from BP's Greater Tortue Ahmeyim project offshore Mauritania and Senegal, where FLNG Gimi is currently moored on the maritime border.
This also marks the first LNG export from the project, introducing Mauritania and Senegal to the international gas market, Golar said.

FLNG Gimi’s commercial operations date (COD) is on track for second-quarter 2025, Golar said.
The COD marks the launch of a 20-year lease and operate agreement that unlocks the equivalent of approximately $3 million of adjusted EBITDA, the company stated.
FLNG Gimi arrived at the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim field in January 2024 and has since been a factor for the field’s first development phase. BP began flowing gas to the vessel from its Greater Tortue Ahmeyim LNG project in January 2025.
