Atlas Energy Solutions’ 42-mile Dune Express conveyor system has delivered its first commercial load of sand from its Kermit, Texas, facility to a loadout facility in New Mexico.
Atlas Energy, which commissioned the fully electric Dune Express conveyor on Oct. 10, said the delivery of commercial proppant was completed on Jan. 12. The company announced the delivery on Jan. 13.
“The first commercial delivery utilizing the Dune Express conveyor system is a major milestone for Atlas, our shareholders and our customers we proudly serve,” Atlas President and CEO John Turner said. “I want to extend a big thank you to all of our employees, and particularly our construction team, for bringing this innovative project online.”
The Dune Express represents a “step change in oilfield logistics” and will help redefine efficiency and reliability for the Permian Bain oil and gas community. In addition, the Dune Express will help make West Texas a safer place to work and live by reducing truck traffic on public roads, Turner said.
