E&P Energy Innovators

E&P’s 2021 Energy Innovators Program

Recognizing Today’s Technology Influencers

What we are recognizing: Demonstrated leadership and significant contributions to advancing oil- and gas-related technologies and innovations that enhance (or have potential to enhance) a company’s mission or the industry’s long-term success. Nominating up-and-comers is encouraged as this awards program seeks to recognize the diverse nature of today’s oil and gas industry.

Potential nominees: These individuals may be employed in technology management, research, product/service development, or in field applications, but each nominee should be directly responsible or deeply involved in the underlying innovation.

Companies may recognize team members who distinguish themselves through exceptional efforts, passion or problem-solving as well as specific accomplishments. Nominees may include those deserving recognition for their potential impact on the future of the industry.

When and how will the selected nominees be honored? Honorees will be announced in the fall and featured in a standalone supplement, the 2020 Energy Innovators, which will publish with the January 2020 issue of E&P magazine. Honorees will be interviewed to flesh out the details of their story as indicated on the nomination form. The honorees will be included in a press release and featured in social media once the issue is complete.

Nomination details: These should answer the question, “How has the nominee contributed?” Beyond resume and/or biographical data, describe specific technical differentiators or the impact this nominee has had on colleagues, the company and/or the industry.

E&P’s Energy Innovators Program FAQs

What is the Energy Innovators program?

E&P’s Energy Innovators program will recognize technology influencers—the next generation as well as those actively engaged in research, technology management and product or service applications.

The program seeks to recognize those who demonstrate leadership and significant contributions to advancing oil- and gas-related technologies and innovations that enhance (or have the potential to enhance) a company’s mission or the industry’s long-term success. Nominating up-and-comers is encouraged as this program seeks to recognize the diverse nature of today’s oil and gas industry.

What characteristics does a potential nominee possess?

These individuals (or teams) may be employed in technology management, research, product/service development or in field applications, but each nominee or group of nominees should be directly responsible or deeply involved in the underlying innovation.

Companies may recognize team members who distinguish themselves through exceptional efforts, passion or problem-solving as well as specific accomplishments. Nominees may include those deserving recognition for their potential impact on the future of the industry.

Does the “innovation” need to be new/recent, or can it be from earlier in someone’s career?

The program is for innovations that have been commercialized in the past five years or those pending commercial rollouts. While this program is not age-exclusive, there will not be any type of “lifetime achievement” award or “elevated” recognition for those with a long career. We are more interested in recognizing those actively pursuing innovative R&D today. The nomination form lists categories that might be considered when nominating someone.

How do I submit a nomination?

Nominations can be submitted at hartenergy.com/energy-innovators.

What is the deadline to submit nomination(s)?

Sept. 3, 2019

Is there a submission limit?

No. Companies may nominate multiple people/teams.

Is there a cost associated with this?

No.

What is the difference between E&P’s MEA program and E&P’s Energy Innovators program?

The Meritorious Awards for Engineering Innovation (MEAs) recognize new technologies that provided monumental changes in their sectors. The program recognizes service and operating companies for excellence and achievement in every segment of the upstream petroleum industry.

The Energy Innovators recognition program will highlight individuals (or teams) actively engaged in research, technology management and product or service applications as well as directly responsible or deeply involved in the underlying innovation.
