Ariana Hurtado joined the Hart Energy editorial team in August 2013. She was promoted to associate managing editor of E&P magazine in 2015 and managed each E&P issue through to fruition. In January 2020, she was promoted to senior managing editor of publications. She oversees all of Hart Energy's publications and award programs: E&P, Oil and Gas Investor magazine, supplements for each franchise, the MEAs program, E&P's 40 Under Forty program, OGI's Forty Under 40 program, Women In Energy, OTC show dailies and more.

Her responsibilities include copy editing and ensuring all content is in by deadline as well as working with the production and sales teams. She oversees all phases of the production of editorial products, working as part of the editorial leadership team, and prioritizing and tracking records of the elements and time schedules of each editorial product. 

Before joining Hart Energy, she worked as a contract news editor for the Houston Chronicle. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in print journalism and a minor in English.
