Ariana Hurtado joined Hart Energy in August 2013 and was promoted to associate managing editor of E&P magazine in 2015. She manages each E&P magazine issue through to fruition, editing copy and ensuring all content is in by deadline as well as working with the production and sales teams. She also assists in the production of E&P special projects, which include supplements, playbooks, techbooks, show dailies, maps, posters and white papers.

She was promoted to senior managing editor of publications in January 2020. Along with E&P project management, she also manages the general editorial duties required for the production of all of Hart Energy's monthly magazines and special projects. This includes overseeing all phases of the production of editorial products, working as part of the editorial leadership team, and prioritizing and tracking records of the elements and time schedules of each editorial product. 

Before joining Hart Energy, she worked as a contract news editor for the Houston Chronicle. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in print journalism and a minor in English.
