Drilling Activity Summary

Description

Oil Search spud its second wildcat on the Alaska's North Slope at the Nanushuk oil project. According to IHS Markit, #1 Stirrup, Section 8-8n-3e in Umiat Meridian, is being vertically drilled to about 6,000 ft. It is targeting a Nanushuk prospect southwest of the Pikka Unit development area. If successful, this well would be flow tested—subject to time limitations associated with operating on the ice. The well's results could help determine the viability of a stand-alone processing facility within the Horseshoe Block. The Stirrup drillsite is about 8 miles west-northwest of Armstrong Energy's #1 and #1A Horseshoe discovery in Section 15-8n-4e. Completed in 2017, #1 Horseshoe was drilled to 6,000 ft and hit more than 150 ft of net oil pay in several reservoir zones in the Nanushuk section. The #1A Horseshoe sidetrack was drilled to 8,215 ft and encountered more than 100 ft of net oil pay in the Nanushuk interval as well. Oil Search is based in Sydney.
