Drilling Activity Summary

Results from a Utica Shale well were announced by Rice Energy Inc. from the company's venture in Belmont County, Ohio. After five days of flowback, #9H Bigfoot had a stabilized flowrate of 41.7 MMcf/d of gas. The 16,710-ft well has a lateral length of 6,975 ft. It was completed in 40 stages from a site in Smith Township, Saint Clairsville 7.5 Quad and was tested on a 33/64-in. choke with a flowing tubing pressure of 5,850 psi. Based upon a composition analysis, according to the Cannonsburg, Pa.-based company, the gas does not require processing and first production is expected in mid-2014. About two miles to the west, Rice Energy has spud #10H Blue Thunder and this well has a planned depth of 20, 454 ft. The company holds drilling rights to about 47,000 acres in the county.
