Description

Gulf Exploration LLC plans to drill three wildcats to test Pennsylvanian Leo (Minnelusa) oil zones on the Black Hills Uplift in Fall River County, S.D. The #1-27 Overlord is in Section 27-10s-1e and the planned depth is 3,500 ft to evaluate Pennsylvanian Leo (Minnelusa) oil zones. The #1-5 Stonewall is in Section 5-10s-1e and has a planned depth of 3,500 ft. The #1-2 Dragon will be in Section 2-11s-1w and has a planned depth of 3,500 ft. Nearby production is about 2.5 miles to the east in North Hollingsworth Field, an inactive, four-well Leo oil pool. The discovery well, #1-19 North Hollingsworth-Federal, is in Section 19-10s-1e, was completed in 1984 flowing 100 bbl of oil, 20 Mcf of gas and 97 bbl of water per day from an untreated Leo Sand interval at 3,522-32 ft. It produced 340.544 Mbbl of oil, 171.1 MMcf of gas and 3.6 MMbbl of water before being abandoned in 1997. Gulf Exploration is based in Oklahoma City.
