Talos Energy LLC is planning to drill more on the company’s Tornado Field in 2018. According to an operations update from the Houston-based company, a third well on Green Canyon Block 281 is expected to be spud in the fourth quarter, with first production in the second quarter of 2019. To date, Talos has not filed a permit for a third well on the block. However, a development plan for the test has been approved by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management. According to IHS Markit, first production from the two-well project was reported in October 2016. Through January 2018, recovery from both wells—#1SS (ST) and #2SS (ST) OCS G33242—totals 6.8 MMbbl of crude and 8.5 Bcf of gas. Talos’ wells yield from Upper Miocene at 20,010-70 ft and 20,520-20,770 ft.
