Australia Worldwide Exploration spud #1-Kohatukai in PEP 55768 in the Taranaki Basin New Zealand. The venture will test dual objectives in Eocene Matapo and Mangahewa sands that are currently producing in the Pohokura, Turangi, and Mangahewa fields. The depth of the primary targets is 3,680 to 3,801 m. Participants in PEP 55768 are Mitsui, 37.5%; Sydney-based operator Australia Worldwide Exploration, 12.5%; New Zealand Oil & Gas 25%; and O.G. Oil and Gas Ltd., 25%.
