Description
Talos Energy has permitted a deepwater Gulf of Mexico wildcat test near its Puma West prospect in Green Canyon Block 867. The #2 OCS G33858 will be drilled in the northeastern corner of the block. Area water depth is 4,220 ft. Nearby drilling is about 2 miles to the west in the block at Apache Corp.’s Parmer discovery at #1 OCS G33858. It was drilled to 18,900 ft and it hit a net 240 ft of condensate-rich pay in several Miocene sands. The Parmer project was expected to include adjacent Block 823 (OCS G G36305) to the north. The lease is now owned by BP.
