Description

A high-volume Strawn oil well in Garden City South Field well was completed by Tyler, Texas-based Carr Resources. According to IHS Markit, it is the second-highest flow rate reported to date. Located in southeastern Scurry County (RRC Dist. 8A), Texas, #1H Wolters 239 was tested flowing 1.513 Mbbl of 35-degree-gravity crude, 1.51 MMcf of gas and 1.58 Mbbl of water per day from acid- and fracture-treated perforations at 7405-14,470 ft. The well was drilled to 14,519 ft and is in Section 239, Block 3, H&TC RR Co Survey, A-343. It bottomed almost 1.5 miles to the northwest in Section 235 at a true vertical depth of 7,247 ft. The 774.3-acre West Texas lease is located on the Eastern Shelf of the Permian Basin.
