Stepout from Abandoned Hemphill County, Texas Well Produces from Cleveland Sand
Drilling Activity Details
Drilling Activity Summary
Description
Axis Energy Corp. completed a stepout from an abandoned Texas Panhandle as a Cleveland sand producer. The #1H Brainard 25 is in Section 25, Block 43, H&TC Survey, A-330 and flowed 918 bbl. of 40-degree-gravity oil and 1,378 bbl. of (presumed load) water per day, with an unspecified amount of gas, from an open-hole lateral at 7,784-12,750 ft. Following a 20-stage fracture-stimulation, the flowing casing pressure was 650 psi on a 48/64-in. choke. The completion was drilled northward across the Hemphill County (RRC Dist. 10), Texas, and the lateral passes about a quarter mile west of an isolated, noncommercial 1975 Cleveland discovery that opened Horse Creek Southeast Field. Axis Energy's headquarters are in Roswell, N.M.
