A Union County, Ark., wildcat by Weiser-Brown Operating Co. of Magnolia, Ark., will attempt re-establish Smackover oil production in Arkansas Beech Hill Field. Located in Section 12-17s-18w, #1 Watson will be drilled to 7,500 ft. Within one-half mile to the southeast is #1 Junior Bill, a 7,201-ft. test drilled in 1976. Oil shows were encountered in cores takes at 7,125-58 ft. in Smackover. Nearby production in Beech Hill Field is in Section 13: #1 Weiner was tested in 1978 pumping 10 bbl. of 36-degree-gravity crude, 100,000 cu. ft. of gas and 120 bbl. of water daily through Smackover perforations at 7,208-18 ft.
