Description

IHS Markit announced that a directional Powder River Basin oil producer has been brought online by Southwestern Production Corp. in Converse County, Wyo. The Lakewood, Colorado-based company's #21-34D BFU produced 581 bbl of oil, 211,000 cu ft of gas and 457 bbl of water in April, the well's first month onstream. Drilled to approximately 6,800 ft in Section 34-35n-76w, it is on the southern flank of V-Two Draw Field. The discovery was perforated in an unreported Shannon Sand zone. No initial potential information has been released. In 2017, Southwestern completed another Shannon producer within 1 mile to the east in Section 34-35n-76w at #41-34H BFU Federal that flowed 55 bbl of 38-degree-gravity crude, 18,000 cu ft of gas and 478 bbl of water daily from an acid- and fracture-treated openhole interval at 7451-11,073 ft. The total depth is 11,073 ft and the true vertical depth is 6,985 ft with the lateral bottoming within 1 mile to the south.
