Drilling Activity Details
Drilling Activity Summary
Description
London-based Savannah Petroleum has spud the fourth well in its Niger drilling campaign at exploration well #1-Eridal in the R3 part of its R3/R4 concession in the Agadem Basin in Niger. The venture is designed to evaluate potential oil pay in Eocene Sokor Alternances as the primary target, with the secondary target of potential oil pay in the Eocene Upper Sokor being considered as upside. The well has a planned depth of 2,592 m and the company plans to log all prospective sections within the well. Additional logging will be conducted in hydrocarbon-bearing sections. Once completed, the well will be suspended for future re-entry and further evaluation and possibly production testing. Savannah is the operator of the R3/R4 concession with 100% interest, with the government reserving the right to back-in for 15% of the profit oil.
