Drilling Activity Summary

Description

IHS Markit reported that Smith Energy Operating Co. completed a San Andres oil well in MTS Field that offsets a recent Spraberry completion. The #1 Anderson 14 was tested pumping 45 bbl of 28-degree-gravity crude, 13 Mcf of gas and 13 bbl of water per day from acid-stimulated perforations at 4,912-53 ft. Although the Dawson County (RRC Dist. 8A), Texas, venture was permitted to 9,000 ft, it was drilled only to 5,100 ft. It is on an 80-acre Midland Basin lease in Section 14, Block M, EL&RR Survey, A-547. The vertical #1 Anderson 14 is a direct offset to Lubbock, Texas-based Smith’s #1 Wheelis 14, a directional CMI Field well that was completed in 2018. Initial potential was gauged at 152 bbl of 36-degree-gravity oil and 35 Mcf of gas per day from acidized perforations at 7,809-19 ft in Spraberry.
