Description

IHS Markit reported that Midland, Texas-based Ring Energy Inc. has filed permits for four new San Andres tests on the Central Basin Platform of the Permian Basin. The ventures will be in Section 10, Block A34, PSL Survey, A-357 in Andrews County (RRC Dist. 8), Texas. The #1H Hadrian and #1H Venus will have parallel horizontal laterals will bottom about a mile to the southeast in the same section. Within two miles to the west will be the proposed #1H Claudius in Section 8, Block A34, PSL Survey, A-864. About three quarters of a mile to the west-southwest will be the planned #1H Diana. Both horizontal tests will bottom to the northwest and target the San Andres. Offsetting #1H Diana is Ring’s #1H Augustus, which was previously drilled to 12,834 ft (4,701 ft true vertical). The horizontal leg bottomed almost two miles to the northwest in Gaines County (RRC Dist. 8A). In late 2016, the company reported that #1H Augustus was producing 602 boe/d after its first 45 days online. Offsetting #1H Claudius, Ring has also completed its northwest-trending #1H Caesar but no completion details have been released to date.
