A development test was completed in the southwestern Kansas portion of the Hugoton Embayment by Merit Energy Co. as Chester producer. The #1 Jacquart is in Section 15-28s-34w of Haskell County. It initially pumped 194 bbl of oil per day, with no gas or water, from untreated perforations at 5,491-5,516 ft. Merit has also staked a proposed 6,000-ft prospect within one-half mile to the southwest at #3 Jacquart in Section 15-28s-34w. Merit’s headquarters are in Dallas.
