Description
Reliance Industries Ltd. of Mumbai reported a gas discovery at exploration well #2A-KG-D9 in the deepwater D9 license off the east coast of India. The #2A-KG-D9 is in 2,700 meters of water and was drilled to a total depth of 4,881 meters to explore the play fairway in the Early and Late Miocene Channel Levee complex (three sand reservoirs with a gross thickness of approximately 22 meters). Additional data gathering and analysis is under way. The D9 license is located in the Krishna Godavari Basin and covers an area of approximately 8,695 sq. kilometers. Hardy holds a 10% participating interest in the license which is operated by Reliance Industries Ltd. The minimum work program for the license provides for drilling of four exploration wells.
