Description

IHS reported that Carmi, Ill.-based John O. Schofield Inc. has scheduled a remote Precambrian exploratory test in Hardin County, Ill. The #1 Schofield-Hicks Dome will be in Section 30-11s-8e. The proposed total depth was not disclosed. Only two wildcats have been drilled within five miles of Schofield's proposed drillsite. Also in Section 30 is #1 H. Hamp, which was abandoned in 1953 at 2,948 ft. The other wildcat in the area, #1 Missouri Portland Cement, in Section 36, was abandoned in 1978 at 370 ft. Out of the seven tests drilled in the county, there has been only one successful oil completion: #1 A.
