Pioneer Natural Resources Co., based in Irving, Texas, has scheduled a 7,500-ft wildcat targeting Pennsylvanian and Mississippian oil zones in a nonproducing region of Lincoln County, Colo. The #24-8-17-53 Shei will be in Section 8-17s-53w. It will evaluate the Pennsylvanian Cherokee, Atoka and Morrow zones and Mississippian horizons on a 320-acre fee lease covering Section 8. According to IHS Inc., it's 14 to 15 miles from two fields: Double Take, a two-well Pennsylvanian Lansing-Kansas City and Marmaton oil pool to the northeast; and Rush Creek Draw, an abandoned Mississippian St. Louis oil reservoir to the east-northeast, in Kiowa County.
