Irving, Texas-based Pioneer Natural Resources Co. has received drilling permits for two vertical wildcats in its exploration program in a nonproducing area of Lincoln County, Colo. The #44-28-16-52 Blakemore, Section 28-16s-52w, is projected to 7,000 ft to evaluate Pennsylvanian and Mississippian oil zones, including Cherokee, Atoka and Morrow. About one mile southwest will be a 9,081-ft Cherokee exploratory test at #31-33-16-52H Billheimer in Section 33-16s-52w. The well will be drilled southward with a true vertical depth of 5,298 ft. The venture's vertical pilot hole is projected to 6,500 ft in Mississippian.
