Drilling Activity Summary

Description

EOG Resources Inc. has received drilling permits for 24 horizontal wildcats in the western Powder River Basin area. According to IHS Markit, the eastern Johnson County projects will be drilled from two common drillpads—12 wells on a pad in Section 8-49n-79w and 12 wells on a drillpad in Section 8-49n-79w. The ventures are on EOG’s Pioneer federal leases. Laterals will be drilled in Niobrara; Frontier-Turner; Mowry; Muddy and Dakota. Measured total depths range up to 22,226 ft. The 24 wildcats will be drilled generally southward to bottom-hole locations in Section 17-49n-79w. They are in a township with only shallow coalbed methane production. The EOG Pioneer drillpads are a little more than 6 miles west of Muddy production in Dry Creek Field, and 8-9 miles west-northwest of horizontal Shannon producers in the Juniper Draw Field area. EOG’s headquarters are in Houston.
