Drilling Activity Summary

Description

Flow-test operations are underway at a North Slope exploratory test by Sydney-based Oil Search Ltd. The #1ST Pikka-B is in Section 35-11n-5e in Umiat Meridian. The well was drilled in a sidetrack hole to 8,599 ft. It hit Nanushuk 3 Sands and 300 ft of cores were cut in the formation. Oil Search noted that the sidetrack cores were oil saturated, like the initial Pikka B core, with high quality rock observed. The sidetrack hole was drilled to the west to an approximate true vertical depth of 4,923 ft and bottomed in Section 34-11n-5e. According to the company, the objective of #1ST Pikka-B is to constrain the potential resource volumes in the field and to help establish flow rates and other data, including the volume, thickness and quality of the Nanushuk reservoir at this location. The sidetrack was drilled off the company’s #1 Pikka-B, which was drilled to an approximate true vertical depth of 6,513 ft and intersected the thickest Nanushuk reservoir in the field to date. Hydrocarbon-saturated, high porosity sand was found in more than 780 ft of cores taken in the original hole.
