Carnarvon Petroleum Ltd. has reported hydrocarbons at its #1-Sea Lion exploration well on Gippsland Basin Block VIC/P57, offshore Victoria, Australia. According to the operator, it saw indications of hydrocarbons in the well, which has now intersected its target zones and reached a total depth of 1,672 m. Wireline logging is underway to evaluate the target zones to determine if there are commercial accumulations. VIC/P57 Block partners include Perth-based Carnarvon with 55.1% interest, in partnership with 3D Oil, 24.9%, and HiRex Australia, 20%.
