Drilling Activity Summary

Description

Kosmos Energy has scheduled an appraisal well at the #13-G oil discovery in the Rio Muni Basin in offshore Equatorial Guinea. The #13-G discovery well hit 251 ft of net pay with 34-37-degree-gravity oil in 2002. The first appraisal well hit 397 ft of net pay, but the second delineation well was a dry hole. The original operator, Hess Corp., sold the lease to China National Offshore Oil Co. in 2006 and neither company was able to make the discovery commercial. After Kosmos purchased the lease, subsequent seismic surveying indicated that more resources could be developed from the original discovery. Kosmos has an operated 40% working interest in blocks S, W and EG-21, which include the Ceiba and Okume fields. Partners are Trident Energy (40%) and Gepetrol (20%).
