Drilling Activity Summary

Description

Oklahoma City-based Noble Energy Inc. has received Colorado state regulatory approval for the first large-scale Comprehensive Drilling Plan (CDP). According to IHS Markit, Noble will be the sole operator across a 100-square-mile position in Weld County. The area, designated “Mustang” by Noble, is in the southern Weld County portion of the Denver-Julesburg Basin’s Niobrara/Codell play. The CDP will control for the pace of development and mitigates the impact from offset operator completion sequencing. Noble has received permits for more than 400 locations across the Mustang area, most of which are valid over a six-year time frame. The plan also includes removing 1,800 older vertical wells and their production facilities. In the Mustang area, the company plans on placing 95-100 wells online through 2020 with average lateral length over 9,500 ft. Gathering infrastructure is in place in Mustang, which 75% is owned by Noble.
