Drilling Activity Summary

Description

According to Noble Energy Inc., the company completed another “flattened-wave-like horizontal lateral” producer in the Denver-Julesburg Basin. The horizontal lateral was drilled through a number of thin zones, including Niobrara, Fort Hays, Codell and Carlile. The #685-A265 Shadow is in Section 30-6n-63w of Weld County, Colo. It initially flowed 742 bbl of 52-degree-gravity oil/condensate, 1.185 MMcf of gas and 1.102 Mbbl of water per day. Production is from a horizontal lateral extending westward 17,610 ft at a bottomhole location in Section 26-6n-64w. The true vertical depth at the well’s endpoint is 6,819 ft. IHS Markit reported that it was perforated in 15 intervals—one in Niobrara, four in Fort Hays, seven in Codell and three in Carlile. It was tested on a 22/64-in. choke following 89-stage fracturing between 6,690 and 17,621 ft. The flowing tubing pressure was 1,442 psi and the flowing casing pressure was 2,170 psi. Noble’s headquarters are in Houston.
