Description
According to IHS Markit, Highlands Natural Resources Corp. is drilling a horizontal Niobrara exploratory test in the Denver-Julesburg Basin. The #5-64 15-16-1BHZ Ouray is in Section 15-5s-64w of Arapahoe County, Colo. It is being drilled westward to 17,835 ft with a bottom-hole location in Section 16-5s-64w. This well is being drilled from the same drillpad as the one used for Highlands’ #5-64 15-16-1CHZ Powell, which was completed in late 2017 as a horizontal Niobrara discovery and is the Denver-based company’s first operated producer in the state. Highlands has drilling permits for six more horizontal Niobrara tests on the same common drillpad in Section 15-5s-64w, with bottom-hole locations generally to the west in Section 16-5s-64w.
