Description
China National Petroleum Co. announced a new oil discovery in Niger's Bilma Block northeast of Agadem Field. The Bilma discovery has been estimated by the Beijing-based company at approximately 43 MMbbl. According to the Niger Ministry of Petroleum, the well and other oil produced from Bilma Field will be developed under the same framework as at Agadem Field, which is believed to hold approximately 650 MMbbl. Bilma's oil output will be transported to the Agadem Field and tied in to the Chad-Cameroon export pipeline under an agreement with both Chad and Cameroon. China National Petroleum Co. is the operator of the Bilma Block and field as well as the new discovery well with 100% interest.
