Over the next three years, Gazprom has planned additional exploration in the field, including acquisition of 3,000 sq. kilometers of 3-D seismic and drilling of 20 wells. Kirinsky Field is due onstream in 2014. Gazprom holds three blocks in Sakhalin III: Kirinsky, Ayashsky and Vostochno-Odoptinsky. According to the Moscow-based company, reserves are forecast to grow by approximately 600 million tons of oil equivalent, including approximately 500 billion cu. meters of gas. Gas reserves at Sakhalin III are estimated at 1.4 trillion cu. meters with the bulk of the reserves in the Kirinsky Block.
