Description
PTT Exploration and Production announced a gas discovery in the Hassi Bir Rekaiz Permit area in eastern Algeria. The #2-Bou Goufa is in the Bou Goufa-Rhourd Ez Zita discovery area. The appraisal venture was drilled to 4,064 m and during a drillstem test, it flowed 2.406 Mbbl of oil and 2.8 MMcf of gas per day. Production is from Triassic Argilo Greseux Inferieur (TAGI). A development plan will be submitted to the government in 2017. The Hassi Bir Rekaiz permit area is 2,686 sq km. PTTEP is the operator with 24.5% interest and joint venture partners are Sonatrach with 51%, and the Chinese National Oil Offshore Corp. with 24.5%.
