Description

MOL Group, the Hungarian national oil company, announced a commercial gas discovery in TAL Block in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, Pakistan. The #1-Mardan Khel was drilled to 4,912 m and was tested in four formations and that all flowed with high volumes of gas and condensate. The most productive zones were Lumshiwal and Lockhart. The Lumshiwal produced 4.3 Mcf of gas and 2.1 Mbbl of condensate per day. The #1-Mardan Khel will be completed as a producer. An appraisal plan includes additional wells in the eastern and western parts of the structure. MOL is the operator of the Tal Block (Block 3370-3) with 10% interest in partnership with Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (30%), Pakistan Petroleum Limited (30%), Pakistan Oil Field (25%), and Government Holdings Private Limited (5%).
