Description

South Africa Energy has announced a new 3-D marine seismic acquisition program over the Paddavissie Fairway on the Total-operated Block 11B/12B, offshore South Africa. According to the company, the recent success at the Brulpadda primary and secondary targets significantly de-risks other similar prospects already identified on the existing 2-D seismic. With the new 3-D seismic program, the reservoir zones will be better imaged to select future drilling locations. The Brulpadda discovery is on Block 11B/12B in the Outeniqua Basin and the block covers an area of 19,000 sq km. Water depths range from 200 m to 1,800 m. South Africa Energy holds 10% participating interest in Block 11B/12B. Total is operator and has a 45% interest in Block 11B/12B, while Qatar Petroleum and Canadian Natural Resources have 25% and 20% interests, respectively.
