Description

Woodside Petroleum is planning to start a four-well offshore Myanmar drilling campaign in its four operated license areas. The planned ventures would extend production in Block A-6. The initial discovery, #1-Shwe Yee Htun, encountered 32 m of net gas pay. The #1A-Thalin in Block AD-7 hit 62 m net gas pay. The discoveries increased Woodside's contingent resource (2C) by 83 MMboe. Perth-based Woodside is currently processing 31,500 sq km of new 3-D seismic data and has completed seabed coring in Blocks A-4 and A-7. Woodside, with 40% interest in Block A-6, serves as the joint operator with MPRL E&P, holding 20% and Total with the remaining 40%. Woodside is also the operator of deepwater drilling in Block AD-7 with 40% interest in partnership with Daewoo International, holding 60% interest and operation of other operations.
