A Miocene producer was announced by Beacon Offshore Energy in Mississippi Canyon Block 794. The Houston-based company’s #1S1B OCS G34909 ST01BP00 flowed 6,912 bbl of 31° API oil, 7.049 MMcf of gas and 16 bbl of water per day from Miocene perforations at 20,386-20,514 ft. It was drilled to 24,193 ft, and the true vertical depth was 23,928 ft. Tested on a 38/64-inch choke, the flowing tubing pressure was 9,970 psi.
