Description

A horizontal Meramec discovery was reported by Oklahoma City-based Tapstone Energy LLC in Section 24-19n-18w in Dewey County, Okla. The #1H Elaine 13/12-19-18 produced 484 bbl of 45-degree-gravity oil, 4.84 MMcf of gas and 1.823 Mbbl of water per day. Production at the Anadarko Basin well is from acidized and fracture-stimulated perforations and a short open-hole section between 11,145 and 20,880 ft. Gauged on a 36/64-in. choke, the flowing tubing pressure was 1,014 psi . The Anadarko Basin prospect was drilled two miles north to 20,880 ft, 10,514 ft true vertical, and it bottomed in Section 12-19n-18w. According to IHS Markit, it is in an area of abandoned vertical wells near the convergence of Cestos and Cestos Southeast fields that produced from Cottage Grove at about 7,450 ft and Morrow at 9,450 ft. The venture is the first long-reach horizontal well in the township.
